My Journey to Become a Naples FL Broker - Part One

By
Real Estate Agent with Christine E O'Shea Broker

It  has been close to two years that my journey into Naples Real Estate began.

For several years, especially over the cold and icy northern winters I would dream of coming to FLORIDA and basking in the warm sunshine, sitting on the beach and enjoying the green grass, palm trees and flowers all year long.

In October of 2007 we Sold our Farm in Hopewell NJ and headed south, way south.  We were considering Ft. Lauderdale, but to us, it was too populated and conjested.

We headed west across Allegator Alley, Route 75 and landed in Naples.  Naples FL!!!! I remember saying it is way to expensive, we cannot afford to live here!  We investigated, came across a great Re/Max Agent that introduced us to his friend and we rented her home.  It was a beautiful, brand new home with an inground pool and lake view and we rented it for $1400 per month furnished.

We settled in, explored the area and learned all we could about the local markets and real estate.

I signed up for my Brokers class on Line.  The State of Florida will allow a sales associate from another state to become a broker, as long as the agent meets all the state requirements, properly fills out the application, etc.

I took the class, put in the hours and then we headed back north for the summer!!!  (all the time I was lurking on Active Rain, not blogging because I was not in the area of my market)
