Here's an article that I found a little offensive when it comes to social media. One of the things it says is the social media people don't seem to know much about the rest of the marketing world. I would be interested to hear opinions about this from some of you.

Interesting article.  I think it is too focused on the short-term.  Maybe social media is only 5% of current marketing, but that doesn't mean that it only reaches 5% of your target audience.  It ignores age gaps; Facebook is how younger generations connect with each other.  Even when that dies in popularity, something like it will reappear.  Some form of social marketing is here to stay, and with the generational differences will only get bigger.

Sandy, I think it is very short sighted. And, frankly, a lot of the competing companies out there seem to slant things as though they were not game changers...when they are. Go back to the calcualtor, the first bag cellular phone you had, the first camera with a clip...these industries are not slowing down on us. One faces a train wreck not to embrace them...so...jump in, embrace and move forward. Those that don't will just get run over. Personally, I am gasping to keep up!!!!! HA!
