Howdy Sheldon-This is a first in a long time. I get to be first on one of your posts. I am at my bosses house for the weekend and I am snowbound with 8" of snow so I am catching up with folks. Hope you are enjoying the weekend before Christmas. It is pretty out there but cold. Have a great weekend. <SMILE>

Our local library (when I was growing up) had a 3rd floor with only local history and pictures. It was like a gold mine as a kid, and as an adult, to go up there and see pictures and articles, 20, 50, 100 years old. Local history is really fun.

Sheldon, it is very fascinating that you find these rooms hidden away. Can catch up on all the lore of the town.

Very cool post Sheldon. I'll bet 99% of the folks who live in Maywood don't even know about this History Room.

But they do now as a result of this post!

Well done my friend!

Sheldon:  I bet this is a fun place to do research and see the way things used to be.  I love looking at historical pictures of my hometown.

This post and the old postcard image touch on something dear to my heart - local history. Luckily for me there are many local history rooms in the libraries around me.  You should use that local history room to do some house history research on some of the old homes in your area.
