Though it was technically Today at 1:00 A.M., I was still up reading a good book;
...the female home owner's son, across the street, was hosting another Friday Nite sorrier; these start
around 7-8:00 p.m. with 1 or 2 cars, with the majority of attendees arriving after 10:30 p.m. Last
evening was no exception to the record. Noise, cars coming & going, returning, & one that seems to
sit around with Brake lights on?  Normally, all outside lights are off during this process, too.
Last night as I deep into the story being read, the fact that cars came & went wasn't too
noticeable until around the 1 A.M. time, when numerous vehicles were heard. Peeking out through the
blinds on our windows, I watched the exodus of 6-7 vehicles, garage door was shutting; Mom's car was
inside. The word "Busted" comes to mind; better she do it now, than have it done later by others.

Note to all out there choosing to or being forced to utilize the 'Rent_to_Own' process, rather than a sale
that may not be to your liking "$$$$-wise."  Check on your property; though you need to advise when wanting to Enter the premises, there is no stopping you [or a chosen representative] from driving by during varied times of the day & on different days of the week.  Ultimately, until a closing on that property, YOU are responsible for the home, just as is every landlord. Unless different legal dealings are in effect, You are the tax-payer of record; you are also bound by your insurance clauses. Be certain that you are clear on total occupancy & who will reside on a regular basis in YOUR home.  Be Alert, Informed, Knowledgeable, & take the time & effort to stay on top of things. Better to check now, than spend your $$$$ repairing for another For Sale situation.
...another item: these attendees park up & down the street / side street thus assuring that
those living here [or Police patrols] simply don't know "what's UP'. LOL.  Is our youth this oblivious?
Do they actually believe that none notice an additional 7-15 cars.
Oh, to be so unaffected by our decisions.

Our Home-front up-date:
...yes, we had some snow fall over night, which explains the 'bright, whiteness of the street & sidewalks
as seen during the above mentioned "spy-session" by me. It was slick & probably wouldn't melt anytime today. Sal did indeed shovel or 'move_with_a_shovel' and cleared the drive & corner lot sidewalks. Then,
he came inside and  announced "My license plate is missing". Knew better than to ask "You sure?" , or worse, "How. When?" so settled for "HUH?" Now folks, we have driven or ridden in this car for the past days or perhaps weeks--one would think that one of us would have noticed, Right! While quizzing -I CAN'T help it- where have we gone that neither noticed that loss? When I heard the name of the store where previously this car was 'kicked or smashed by human' that resulted in an extensive repair [$1500.00], my reaction was, "well it was probably taken, you best report it missing." Later on he did so. I need to get him the sweatshirt that says: "I'll drop everything & get right on YOUR problems"  Works for me!
All I could envision was someone using this plate for nefarious jobs; and with an Italian surname [First name too] it spoke "Problem Possibility quotient---HIGH--Level!

News: Michigan & Macomb Co. by geographical data:
 In an article in the Metro & State Section / www.macombdaily.com  / December 18, 2009 / pg 4A,
John Flesher / AP Environmental Writer reports on the 2-year, $3.5 M study by the U.S.-Canadian panel
concluded "there was no reason to stem the flow from Lake Huron by placing structures in a river that
connects Huron with Lake Erie to the south. " the environmental group--Georgian Bay Forever'-had commissioned engineering studies of the St Clair River; this group related that human activities / dredging done in the 1960's has caused a significant increase in volume of water moving down the river from Lake Huron to Lake Erie. The GBF group is quoted as stating "Because of that [the dredging & activities of humans], Lake Huron is losing up to 12 B gallons per day in addition to it's normal outflow-enough to fill 10,000 Olympic sized pools." The disagreement between the groups has been a contentious issue for the past decade; it has caused Millions in losses for shippers, marina owners & other businesses.
This does not appear to be the ending of the battle. Keep tuned.

On Dec. 17 2009 / the Detroit News / Think Section -pg 2B / the  article by: Carl J. Schramm "Mich. should
renew Ford's entrepreneurial spirit" caught my eye; Carl had me at the opening sentence. "Detroit is a
tragedy in the very precise meaning of that term." In the 2nd paragraph, Carl states "Tragedies are never trivial. They do not befall the marginal, the unimportant or the irrelevant. The essence of tragedy is the fall of someone or something  --- great...."  Mr. Carl J. Schramm is President & CEO of the Ewing Marion Kaufman Foundation i Kansas City; Author of "The Entrepreneurial Imperative" & co-author of "Good Capitalism, Bad Capitalism". To try to pick & choose or relate his thoughts from this writing--would be wrong:
Let me leave you with two thought-provoking statements directly from Mr. Schramm:
..."What  would yield progress?  Very simply, a return to Detroit's entrepreneurial roots--recapturing the spirit of
Henry Ford in 1904, at the moment when there was only one person on his company's payroll."
..."Don't try to pick winners; let them emerge naturally."

Treat yourself to some insightful writing; go to www.detroitnews.com/think/  then locate the article on Thursday December 17, 2009 /Section B / "Mich. should renew Ford's entrepreneurial spirit" by Carl J. Schramm

May the rest of your Saturday be pleasant & for those on the roads here in Macomb Co. later on
"BE CAREFUL out there FOLKS"
