The holiday season is here, and it's my favorite time of the year to bake, bake, bake.   I love to spread cookies, breads, and calories to all my friends & family.

It's a great way to "THANK" my clients too!  It's great fun to just stop by, ring the bell and give them a great yummy thank you!

I've got my standard recipes - my true traditional favorites, that I do every year.  I love to pack and arrange them in Holiday Tins.  Some are from the Hersheys Chocolate Lovers Cookbook !

  • My Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Spritz & Christmas Trees (Press Cookies & Decorated)
  • Oatmeal Cookies
  • Peanut Blossoms

Quick & Tasty Christmas GiftsBut, this year I have found some NEW things to make & give!

Buried in my huge cookbook collection, I found a book.  Who knows how long I've had this book, but it's still on Amazon.com

"QUICK & TASTY CHRISTMAS GIFTS"   I highly recommend this book!

Today, I have done 4 recipes in this book.  All are wrapped and ready to give out tomorrow !

  • Green Onion Cheese Spread Balls
  • Easy Pralines
  • Crunchy Tiger Butter
  • Roasted Butter Pecans

All have been "Kitchen Tested" and "Taste Tested"

I love to bake!  If I can get presents wrapped this afternoon I'm going to make some goodies too.

Ann - I'd rather bake than shop.  I haven't wrapped yet either.  Tis the season, and it's GREAT!  Have fun doing your goodies!

Baking is an inexpensive way to show you care. I made 19 rum cakes this weekend for our extended family members. We boxed them up in festive holiday boxes from the dollar store and gave them out at an early Christmans dinner.

I have the Hershey's Chocolate Lover's Cookbook too, but not that second one. I love to give things not quite so sweet, such as banana bread (made with 1/2 whole wheat flour and yogurt).

I am so excited to find others that love to bake at Christmas time.  I wrote a similar post about taking pumpkin bread out to my clients each year.  Christmas baking is such a part of my holiday traditions.  What can I say...I love it! Have a Merry Christmas!

Even though getting a starbucks card for a gesture of the holidays it is alot less personal. These types of gifts are from the heart and I feel they have much more value when given and probably just as many calories. Plus I love being in the kitchen myself.

Happy Holidays to all.

Hi Christine,  Nice seasonal post.  Reminds me of my mother's kitchen when I was a kid !   Might be a good idea to send some of each to me before sending them out.  Taste test, you know !   Hope your Holiday Season is the best ever !

Way to go! Unfortunately I like to taste-test way more than I do baking so I have to be careful. This is a very appetizing post. hahahhaa!

Yes Christine, tis' the season for baking. I don't bake as much as I used to, but when I do I really enjoy it. Usually these days I buy 'Quality' baked goods and give them to friends and family. Since I was a professional Chef earlier in my life, I offer my clients, past and present, a cooking lesson or two. I can remember when I would have flour and sugar all over me and in the kitchen. Keep on baking and Merry Christmas!
