"Give me liberty or give me death!"

"Give me liberty or give me death!"

Liberty is basically(according to Websters dictionary) - 1. freedom from slavery, captivity, etc., 2. a particular right, or freedom, etc., 3. an impertinent action or attitude., 4. permission given to a sailor to go ashore.

So, where is America going? Are we really living up to the Constitution set my our fore fathers?

Are we being given the best that is available to us?  Health care, mortgage loans (after all, we are paying for the banks that didn't manage funds as they should), re-financing (why not?  If you could loan money 4 years ago at 5-6% and that is the current interest rate, why not set that rate in stone, rather than foreclose?)

I just don't honestly get this.  I have so many friends who were offered the world, low interest rates, rates that were only supposed to increase 1% per year, only to find out that another bank bought their loan and the deal has changed.  Now instead of a $1,100.00 payment per month the new bank that bought the loan wants $3,600.00 -

NOW!  How does it make sense to foreclose on these people? Why not just re-fi and not lose the hundreds of thousands of dollars it costs a bank to foreclose on these properties? Not to say, how angry the owners are that the banks won't help them out.  The anger that occurs and the end result - the home owners strip the property, throw a bag of concrete down the toilet and take everything - even more than the "kitchen sink".

I don't understand what happened to the good ole USA - where "United we stand, United we fall"...well, that is not the case.

The banks are paying back their government loans - quite quickly - at the insistance of the Presidents of the banks and the big wheelers that still want those great big "END OF YEAR" BONUSES!

There is no "united we stand" in these deals.  There is still those that HAVE keep wanting to HAVE MORE...AND THE REAL PEOPLE (that we cannot do without) have LESS.

What is happening to the United States?  We need to protect those who live here, and to say,
"NO" to the rediculous BONUSES IN CORPORATE AMERICA.

WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?

Good stuff Karen.  I love the call out.  It's been a while since we connected, but I see that we feel similarly here!

Larry,

Good to see you and nice new pic!

Thanks.

I feel for those people sleeping with guns, wanting a nice shower, and most of all wanting their wife, children, parents to hug during the Holidays...no matter what religion.

Obama - a good solid B+....what planet is he on?  Get a grip, in my classroom - you are lucky with a "C" - sorry - couldn't help myself - I mean really trying to bargain on "Global warming" when our unemployment rate is over 10%...Global warming should be the least of his worries...How about the homeless, the unemployed, those corporate bankers who are in a hurry to pay back the government so that they get their (underserved bonuses)?

I'm so over this.

ANYWAY!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Karen: It's hard to watch people suffer when you can't help. The government notoriously cannot do things very efficiently, so them paying getting paid back by the banks so that private enterprise can operated with a minimum of gov intervention may not be all that bad. Perhpas that is the silver lining you arfe seeking.

HA!  The populace that believes that the banks, insurance companies have the citizen's interest in mind will have a rude awakening.

The populace that believes that their relief will come from government have no cognizence of what motivates the elected ones who make the laws.

An uninformed populace that looks to "for profit businesses" or "government largess" for relief will be disappointed.

Matt,

I think NOT!  If the government bailed out the banks, it was b/c the Presidents were not presiding correctly over the businesses they were in charge of.  How can you dare give bonuses to these people?

Russell,

Me too and thanks for subscribing.  I don't know what is happening here in the USA, but I don't like it - change my @ss.....this is more like abuse of the system.
