The 7 Wonders of the World
How many of you know what the 7 wonders of the world are? (At least those that are agreed upon by scholars) Give up? Here is a chart provided by wikipedia outlining the accepted “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”:

Herodotus claimed the outer walls were 56 miles in length, 80 feet thick and 320 feet high (although some archaeological findings suggest otherwise).
After 1st century BC
Occupied the whole width of the aisle of the temple that was built to house it, and was 40 feet (12 meters) tall.
5th-6th centuries AD
Stood approximately 45 meters (135 feet) tall with each of the four sides adorned with sculptural reliefs. Origin of the word mausoleum.

Between 115 and 135 metres (383 - 440 ft) tall it was among the tallest man-made structures on Earth for many centuries.
In a never attempted before move, N7W is letting the people of the world vote on what will become the new 7 Wonders of the World. Swiss adventurer Bernard Weber started this campaign in 2001 to protect humankind’s heritage across the globe. In 2005, the N7W narrowed down the list of candidates to 21 from 77. On January 1, 2006, the official list of the 21 candidates was announced in Zurich.
From then until July 7, 2007 (07/07/07), the people of the world have the opportunity to vote on their top 7 Wonders.
