Snow in Connecticut

By
Home Inspector with JRV Home Inspection Services, LLC HOI 394

Unless you have been living under a rock or more aptly a snow bank you would have heard about the monster storm that marauded its way up the East coast over the weekend. We here in Connecticut received greatly varied amounts of the white stuff. I happened to be one of the lucky ones. My town got only about 4 - 6 inches, the next town over, Middletown 12". Some areas got close to 2 feet!

Fresh fallen snow is beautiful. The air is still with a winter quiet that has settled over the land with the new snow. I snapped a couple photos from around my house. This is our second snow of the year. Quite unusal. Could be a lot more to come this winter.

Brrrr.... Beautiful but brrrr. I just got back from the gym and it is a very cold 54 degrees. Actually warmer than earlier today. I am wondering if I should feel guilty.

Jim, I love the chair, LOL. What is it doing outside anyway? I only got about 2 inches, and it blew away. Maybe we didn't even get that. OK by me though!

None here yet James. By this time last year we had lots of it and poor Nutsy was freezing his rear while running Charlie's firm.

Here is my back deck the day after.  I think you got what we got - some people were inundated, others not so.  West of me 36"!

Great photos!  We had so much blowing wind and drifting it was hard to determine how much we got - 28-30" I think.  I had to shovel a path for the dogs to get out back.

That's the door someone tried to bump by the way.  I thought I'd clear a path for them too...

Kate, Like the new picture. 54 degrees around here would be shirt sleeve weather, but you shouldn't feel guilty. Warm yes, guilty no.

Barbara, You folks must get some snow, No? Guess I'm just used to it.

Charlie, He could be like one of those woolly mammoths frozen in the snow for thousands of years.

Andrea, The chair was moved out because we no longer needed it. It is designated as firewood.

Steve, I recall your writing about how a little snow sends you north-westerners into a tizzy.

Terry, Not as bad a our neighbors to the south.

Jay,  Same storm, but it had a hard time getting here. He dumped most of the snow to the south. I have a feeling we may get one like yours before the winter is over.
