Rotary Club of Watertown CT 2010 Academic Scholarship
(Watertown, CT 12/21/2010) The Rotary Club of Watertown, CT announced today that the Application for their 2010 Academic Scholarship is now available on-line at www.watertownctrotary.org Applications can also be obtained from the Guidance Departments at area high schools.
"Each year, the Rotary Club of Watertown endeavors to recognize the accomplishments of students in area high schools," said Rotary Scholarship Committee Chairman Rick Cignoli. "This year we will again look forward to awarding several Academic Scholarships to seniors in area high schools who will be entering a four-year college or university after graduation." The Club's Scholarship Committee determines the number of scholarships to be awarded and the amount of each award.
Criteria for the 2010 Scholarship Award include:
- Eligible students must be residents of Watertown or Oakville, CT
- Available to high school seniors who will be entering a four-year college or university in the fall semester of 2010.
- Scholastic record and extra curricular activities
- Community service
- Demonstrated financial need
- Personal interview with the Club's Scholarship Committee
Eligible students are advised to:
- Complete the two-page Rotary Club of Watertown 2010 Scholarship Application
- Applications are available on-line at www.watertownctrotary.org. They can also be picked up at the Guidance Departments at Watertown High School, The Taft School, Holy Cross High School, Chase Collegiate School and Sacred Heart High School.
- Applications must be returned to school's Guidance Department who are to attach a copy of student's Scholastic Standing Report.
- Applications must be returned to the Rotary Club no later than April 1, 2010.
- Finalists will be invited to interview with the Scholarship Committee by May 1,2010.

Decisions on the finalists will be made in time for presentation of the scholarship at any year-end Award Ceremony that may be held at the high school.
