Craigslist is great local classified ad marketplace you an use to promote your listings, products and services. There are now 450 Craigslist sites in all 50 US states, and over 50 countries with 7 high level categories that include: Jobs, Gigs (Job related), Housing, For sale/Wanted (General), Resumes, Services Offered, Personal/Romance (Classifieds), Community and Events. If you are new to Craigslist, its worth checking out.

When you publish a flyer, a HTML template is automatically generated that you can post directly into Craigslist (or Backpage, blogs, and other websites). Subscribers have the added benefit of an enhanced HTML template that includes large versions of pictures in your flyer gallery. Simply select Craigslist HTML in the Post Flyer tab of your flyer. The other HTML formats are not necessarily Craigslist compliant so be sure to select the correct HTML format.

Both of the Craigslist HTML templates have been designed (and redesigned) to make sure they adhere to the Craigslist Terms of Service (no external links, no tracking, i.e).

We have had a number of great resources on our support wiki to help you learn the ropes, all the way from online tutorials, FAQs, and even a review of Craigslist’ Terms of Use (so you better understand what you can and cannot do). You can find some of these resources here:

Wow.  I didn't realize that the standard html format may not be compliant with Craigslist.  Thanks for the post and links to more info.

I have been posting my lisings on Craigs list for almost 1 year, still do it but I have never seen a lead call or e-mail on a property. I feel that a consumer sees it as overwhelming due to the number of lisitngs

I've heard of vFlyer and Postlets and thoroughly enjoy the ads they create. But I didn't realize all of the work and time saving functionality, beyond Craigslist, that you provide.

Currently, I am conducting an informal survey that will quantify the effectiveness of Craigslist. Please click on the link below to answer 5 short survey questions. Also, tell your associates about the survey. We need at least 100 respondents to fill out the survey.  Once I receive the results I will share them with everyone.

Ive been using a craigslist posting tool (http://www.craygo.com/) to post to the craigslist real estate/housing sections. I thought I'd share the tip with you. Jackie (who commented above) said that she doesn't have any luck with posting on craigslist. I think that's because she can't stay at the top of the listings, with the craigslist tool you can easily post to all top cities, or stay within the top listing of one city.

I love this tool and posting on craigslist. I have not had much luck with listings on craigslist yet but I do like the fact that I can post professional looking flyers on their for free to get name recognition if nothing else.

Hi everyone:

I have been using a great tool to automate my postings on Craigslit. All I have to do is create a dozen ads with several different headers and tell rainmaker how often I want those ads posted. It does the rest. Whether you are at your computer or not your ads get posted.

Here is a link:Rainmaker

PS: you can download a free trial!
