60 Comments on Here's the 411 on Abbreviations. U May LOL
LOL. Thanks for the laugh. Learning basic, common abbreciations in one thing, add real estate abbrevations to it and it can make your head spin. I'm pregnant and starting reading mommy boards online and it's a whole other world that makes you go hmmm....
neat post, and, there is a message we all should remember
That is too funny!
Someone need to put together a dictionary of abbreviations with explanations. I have resisted it as much as I can
TTFN = TaTa For Now ! (like Bye Bye for now :o)
Jeff,
Are you sure there's not a typo in there? Somewhere? :-)
so many abbreviations that we can't even keep up with them, so how could we expect the public to know what they are.... Thansk for bringing this to light :)
OMG. TITM. Seriously, Jeff, couldn'y you just write these out? LOL, I know that you were making a point, and it is a point very well made. MC & HNYTY (LOL, I finally figured that one out)...
FTR, we've become an acronym world, which BTW, suits me just fine =)
What? I don't get it. J/K LOL We probably sound like teenagers texting back and forth here.
Hey Jeff, You have entirely to much time on your hands. Bravo, well done and no I didn't read the entire thing, I am too tired, LOL. But I did get to the best parts.
My brains hurts too. I got a good percentage of it, but then I got lost.
Guys,
What language do you all speak? I am afraid I am light years behind. I do not know about your customers, but I am completely lost. If I figure one or two, it is great.
Jeff,
I think you need a repost with translation, I got a few and would like to learn more.
P.S. do you speak Ebonics as well? LMFAO!!!!
Aaron - well this post must have driven you nuts, to some extent. Have a great holiday.
Brad - if anyone gets all this stuff I would suspect it's you. Have a great holiday with your family!! See you sometime in 2010?
Bill - Oh I bet you know more than you are letting on.
Cheryl - well the real estate ones we probably should know, at least the more common ones. The other stuff, well, maybe not so important. There are on-line dictionaries for texting abbreviations.
Hannah - LOL. Well it was interesting to write. It was a bit sarcastic since abbreviations can, and do, get overdone.
Lane - good thing much of this stuff is optional, isn't it. BUt I guess the message also is that folks sometimes don't think about the abbreviations they use and that others may not know what they are. I find this often with regard to mortgage stuff.
Michelle - how things have changed, huh. BUt some accronyms have stood the test of time for decades.
Chuck - ha ha. Have a gd 1.
Jeff
I am not sure how I missed this clever (so very clever) featured post. I'm definitely more linguistically challenged than you when it somes to the 411 on all of the acronyms (I guess that's what they are, right?) This one made me LOL
Just reviewing some of the great featured posts of the past today looking for inspiration and ideas for writing some new content for my lethbridge realtor blog. This was well written and humorous. I almost wrote the same LOL comment as Melissa above me.
I'm still learning the forms here in CA and soon we will have more.
Jeff, how can ya'll get business done in Calf. OMG!
