Have you ever tried to take a drink from a fire hose?

Reading from Active Rain is JUST like trying to take a drink Taking a Drink from a Fire Hoseout of a firehose!

This week, I have been skipping around reading different posts by different Rainers just trying to get some insight into who's HERE!

My subscriber list is HUGE, and I comment and exchange conversations and ideas back and forth with them on a frequent basis. I have noticed, however, that many of them have "disappeared" from the Rain. I miss them!

Lately I've been trying to find new (to me) bloggers to enjoy and to share. Now that we have over 168,673 members (as of this moment in time), it feels like a HUGE mountain to climb. BUT along the way, I've found interesting people, great looking blog posts, and some new friends.

So? what do we think? How many Active Rainer's will be here next year? How many more will I know?

Hi Teri,

Drinking from a fire hose sounds too consuming. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

AR has certainly undergone alot of changes, but I think that's the be expected. There are many who have been here for the long haul, while others come and go. I enjoy both, although I find, that because of time I tend to not explore as many of the new or lesser known writers as I would like. What I find overwhelming is he amount of information we have at our fingertips, so to speak.

There were predictions we would hit 200K this year but clearly that is not going to happen. I think some of that has to do with economic issues. Time will tell how much more we will grow.

Have a wonderful holiday!

Jeff

Teri - I've been out of the rain for a while, but hope to contribute more in the future.  I'm happy to see that you continue to bask in the rain.

Teri, I wouldn't miss any of your posts-the local ones about our shared love for the Phoenix east valley as well as the ones where you share your knowledge and experience.

I am a relative new comer to Active Rain and am amazed at what a great resource it is. I have become quite addicted to Actively Raining every day. The friendships, the knowledge of experts, the google juice-how could I not take advantage of all this.

In 2010 Active Rain will be a huge part of my business plan. I almost feel quilty that something so fun can be good for my business.
