Even though I was much younger, I do remember the annual Bing Crosby Christmas specials, and this one very unique moment with David Bowie. It is one of my favorites.
I hope you enjoy it. Merry Christmas Everyone!

I love this one!! It is one of my favorites also : ) Thanks for sharing it!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! and Happy 2010!!
Cathy - This is one of my favorites, too! Merry Christmas and I hope you have a phenomenal 2010!
I think Bing Cosby is sort of the poster boy for Christmas songs. Although, now that I think about it, his pairing with Bob Hope for those Road movies are what inspired me as a kid to want to travel when I grew up. Merry Christmas, Cathy, and I'll see you next week.
Seemed like an awfully odd pairing at the time. But, this duet does work and still sounds pretty good to me.
Elizabeth: So Many great singers and actors from the 50's - still get to me at this time of year. I love them all. Thank you for stopping by.
Tom: It was odd - and it SO worked!
Hi Cathy! GREAT video--I still have goosebumps! I'd never seen this before. Funny observation--isn't it odd that you can barely understand David Bowie when he's talking but, when he's singing, he's crystal clear! That's one of my favorite holiday songs but, the duet is just heartwarming.
Thanks for sharing that with us! Have a wonderful weekend...
Cathy - Isn't it amazing that we can look at the early years of some celebraties and say, "Who would have thunk it?" Especially with the continuance of their careers! One singer I knew would make it big, from her very first performance on television was a young Lisa Minelli in a pony tail as a teenager. In the midst of belting out her first song, I knew she was going places.
Cathy, that was such a treat! I love both of those guys......do you have any idea what year this was recorded?
Debe: It was many years between the original airing and when you I starting hearing it on radio. I still remember being mesmerized when watching the original performance. I had all thought of David Bowie as being so "different" until this song.
Mryl: It is true.... there are some performers you witness early on and know they have long future.
Ann: I am so glad you asked the question. I went looking (love the net) and found this article with the backstory on the song. Hope your Holiday was simply Grand!

Hi Cathy~ I loved this. I had never seen or heard them sing together before! Thanks for sharing it with us. I love Christmas music!
You are so welcome Vickie. Thank you for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful new year holiday.
Cathy: Some pairing that seem "odd" to some folks... can seem like a "match made in heaven" to others. I have seen this video before... and was mesmerized by it. And yes... out of the fifties... some great artists and songs. Oh... how do I know about the fifties ? Ummm... would you believe my mother told me about them ? LOL. I thought not. :(
