Happy Birthday Jesus

By
Real Estate Agent with EXIT Blue Water Realty, Matawan, NJ 07747

Work is done, shopping is done, gifts are wrapped, messages sent out to friends and family, and only a few hours till we celebrate Jesus' Birthday.

It always amazes me beyond imagination when I think of the power of one birth.

Sometimes I think we have forgotten the true reason that we celebrate Christmas.

So in all the hustle and bustle of celebrating with family and friends take a minute

to wish Jesus a Happy Birthday.

Bill & Karen - We have a relatively recent tradition in our family - every Christmas Eve we spend some time telling each other what we are giving Jesus for His birthday.

That is a great idea and helps reinforce the true meaning of Christmas.

I think if we all remember to keep the spirit of Christmas in our hearts all year long there would be less trouble in the world.

Thanks for commenting and enjoy.

Hope you had a very merry Christmas. Isn't it amazing how Christmas has turned from a holy day to a holiday? We've lost sight of why this season is special. Yesterday, we talked about what we did when we were growing up: went to midnight mass, sang Christmas carols (and definitely not songs like "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" which I absolutely hate!), bundled the family in the car to look at Christmas decorations and lights, and that family togetherness was full of fun.

I'd like to have those moments again when we can say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy holidays".

Pacita, I think we have gone way too far with Political Correctness, not only with Merry Christmas but with everything else. I think when we put common sense to the side and let the government decide in black and white we loose sight of what makes our nation the Greatest in the world. People come here from all over the world because of our freedoms and understanding of people's different beliefs and cultures. How is it that we have let this get out of control?

Just because I believe one thing and someone else believes something different doesn't mean that I should have to shut down and worry about offending them if I say Merry Christmas, just as I would not be offended if someone wished me a Happy Hanukkah. In our office we have agents from a wide variety of nations and cultures and beliefs. No one gets upset, because we all know and respect each others cultures. Isn't that the basis of almost all beliefs.

Thanks for stopping by.. I am going to put this in a blog....I got started with just a simple comment. Oh well.

Rebecca, Mary, Steve &  Joel... Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
