I think it's called Holiday Creep. This year, I saw Christmas advertisements in October.

Retail sales for Christmas was once based on Black Friday till Christmas Eve, then when sales were steadily going down they moved them back to November and have continued to move them back a week to show a strong retail selling period till thsi year they were moved back to 1st of October and Halloween for the third year will be included in Christmas sales.
We will be starting in July before long.
My sister in law starts her Christmas shopping the day after Christmas.
Ya oughta see it. OK Kids, this year I got you last years hottest toy, woo hoo!
