3 credit hours (this course qualifies as an elective, not for core law)

This course, taught by attorney, Todd Collis of Collis, Smiles, & Collis, LLC, who works with real estate transactional work and intellectual property, will discuss the following:  basics of copyright law, when copyright protection arises and what rights pertain to a copyrighted work, legal ownership of copyright protected works including what party is the owner of a copyrighted protected work, licensing and use of copyrighted protected works and the basics of copyright registration, registration of photos taken by the REALTOR®, websites and promotional published materials used by the REALTOR® in connection with their business, and common copyright law misunderstandings.  In addition, there will be time for questions and answers.

Thursday, January 7, 9:00 am to noon
Cost:  $30 ($40 for non-members) if paid by 1/06; $40 ($50 for non-members) day of class
