Assistance in Formatting Blog Posts

As I am getting started with Active Rain, I am impressed with many of the articles that I find here.  I am new to Active Rain, so I have a lot to learn. I know enough HTML to be dangerous, but I have access to some website WYSIWIG tools.  I have been frustrated by using the built-in tools to format my articles.  Many articles are well written, rich in content and beautiful to view.

Are you doing the layout in another application and then post into the Blog?  It seems difficult to do, especially without knowing what tags are acceptable and what may be contained in style sheets.

My websites are DEEP in that they have virtual tours for each property and I have made maps of neighborhoods that show my properties off well.  My focus now is getting some BREADTH in my exposure. It seems to me that Active Rain and other Social networking is the answer to that.

See my Land Man Website and my Google Map of the Seligman, Arizona Area. I am preparing a post to show how some of my land maps are created.

Another Page to check out is my Map-Search of the IDX.

I am especially interested in sharing ideas for showing off tracts of rural land.

I just use WSIWIG tools. Works the best for me. I thought for a second when it said land man you meant pretoleum landman. I did that for awhile. Then natural gas tanked. Great web site btw!

Me too....juyst the WYSIWYG tools for me as well.  A bit of HTML when posting videos, but for the most part.....I love the what you see.  Let's not make things too complicated.  I'm a slow dude!

No I mainly use WYSIWYG too.  Don't have time to get too fancy.

John, there are some "complicated" ways to get creative with text and colors and all that---perhaps the easiest way is to do your posts in Firefox Scribefire and then copy and paste them into your blog---then add your pictures, video, do links whatever.  In Scribefire you get a wide assortment of colors and text etc---with this simple add on to Firefox you can do a lot of what I do in my blog.  Text size is perhaps the most important thing for me because I know so many viewers are over 30:)

Thanks to each of you for your comments.  I have used Firefox for years, but did not know about Scribefire. When I went to install it, I found a wealth of other handy plugins that look promising. Yes, I am WAY over 30.
