You have found your dream home.  Good for you!  But before you sign all the paperwork, take a step back.  Take some time.  Are you getting lost in your dream?  STOP and take a dose of reality! Don't get lost in your dream home!

The real estate market is in a constant state of change.  Regulations set to protect the consumers are also being updated constantly.

All too often, I find buyers and sellers do not understand the real estate process.  It can be very confusing and overwhelming, especially for the first time buyer.  My advice to both buyers and sellers is to ask lots of questions all along the way.  Educate yourself and understand what you are signing.

Your real estate professional works for you and is there to protect your interests.  If there is a question they cannot answer, then they should have a sphere of other professionals such as lenders, inspectors, etc to help along the way.

As with any other profession, for a realtor some things about real estate become second nature to us.  If I am not able to pass on my knowledge to my client, then I have failed.  Please, ask questions.  Most real estate professionals are more than willing explain things more than once and in different ways if necessary.

If you are in the market to buy or sell a home in Valparaiso, Indiana or throughout Northwest Indiana, please consider giving me a call.

Have a great day and a Happy New Year!

Hi Pam - We are seeing so many foreclosures right now that I can't help but wonder how many of those homeowners just did not understand what they were getting into

Have a Happy New Year.
