Here's Looking At You, Kid

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential California Realty

I just got over Christmas and now New Year's is heading straight at me! As most of you know, 2009 is a year I'd rather forget. Scott was laid off, I switched offices, we are still trying to sell our house and we are in the middle of an attempted loan modification. For the first time ever, I won't be able to make this month's house payment. Our once stellar credit rating will no doubt take a huge hit, which will pretty much mess up any future home purchases or even renting or leasing a place.

There are always bright spots along the way, Our health is pretty good. We have reliable transportation. Our kids are not in jail. So I guess we are pretty blessed.

You know those old cartoons that portray the year ending as a white-bearded old man who looks ready to kick the bucket? And then the new year coming is a cute baby in a nice clean diaper with a smile on his or her face?

Here's looking at you, kid!

Heather, the good thing is that you have several listings in Whittier right now.  I have Whittier buyers.  The next time you get a new listing, send me an email and we can see if we have a match.

Heather.............. I am featuring this as a prayer request in,"Christianity and Real Estate"

Believe me, we have ALL been going through a LOT of trouble because of this economy the United States is in.....

Stay with it, sister..... keep doing right.... and the Lord WILL eventually bless your efforts......

You, I and all Christians know this.......

GOD DOES REWARD those who expectantly wait on Him with all their heart......

Heather...in 2001...I was at the pinnacle of my career.  I had just bought a home and had four closings that would happen within two months that would take me to the end of the year without selling another home.  Things couldn't have been better.  Then 9/11 hit.  My closings didn't close and I went four months without being able to make my house payment.  I was even hiding my car so they wouldn't take it away.  Needless to say...things were bad.

In the midst of all of that, however, God showed Himself to me in a way I cannot describe.  It didn't change my circumstances...but it did change how I looked at my circumstances.  I limped along for months on a salary that wasn't even a quarter of what I had made in previous years...but each month...God supplied my every need.

I learned through it all that He was truly all I ever needed and lived out the verse where Paul said that he learned to be content in a little and in plenty.  Then...God restored all that was taken from me and entrusted me with an income that was triple what I had made at the "pinnacle" of my career.  I have had lean times since...but always knew that God would be enough.

Continue to trust Him.  He will not change.  He will not forsake you.  I love the verse in Psalms that says,  "I have been young and I have been old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or His seed begging bread".  You can count on Him that He will meet all your needs and give you joy in the midst of the storm.

I willl be praying for you...

Claire
