Smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors.
Sonoran property Inspectors LLC wants to remind everyone of a few quick things.
1, Change the batteries in your smoke detector at least once a year and test the detector every month. Sonoran Property Inspections LLC home inspectors test these detectors on every home inspection. More times than not, the batteries are dead and often not even installed. If you change the air filter monthly or at least every 2 months , test the smoke alarms at the same time.
2, Clean the dust off the detector, this will sometimes give the unit false information and could possibly make the unit NOT work when you need it to most.
3, Please install Carbon Monoxide detectors in your home if you have natural gas appliances. These units should be installed in every room that has a gas appliance.
4, Replace your smoke detector if it is more than 10 years old.
These easy tips can help reduce the stress when doing a home inspection and prevent any un-necessary inspection items.
