An Opportunity To Recognize Volunteers

Ontario is a better place to live thanks to the more than 5 million volunteers who help build stronger safer communities or contribute to the cultural richness and the diversity that Ontario is know for. The Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration offers an opportunity to recognize the volunteers in our midst through the Honours and Awards Secretariat.

If you would like to see a volunteer or group from your community honoured in this manner for contributing to the building of a kinder more caring community now is your opportunity. There are three opportunities with deadlines in January for your nominations.

1/    The Volunteer Service Awards honours volunteers for their years of continuous community service  - nominations close January 25th 2010

2/    The June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Awards honours outstanding contributions by individuals, groups, or business across Ontario  - nominations close January 15th 2010

3/    The Ontario Medal for Young Volunteers recognizes the achievement of volunteers between the ages of 15 and 24 - nominations close January 31st 2010
