There's HOPE for Ventura County homeowners facing foreclosure with HOPE Now's new loan modification program. Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation, a Ventura-based nonprofit, helps low-income families keep their homes and is a big believer in the HOPE LoanPort web portal. They say that HOPE Now has enabled them to streamline the home loan modification process, get quicker answers and helps Cabrillo serve even more Ventura families who are facing foreclosure. A major stumbling block that homeowners have found with the home loan modification process was incomplete paperwork. HOPE Now has allowed nonprofits like Cabrillo help local Ventura homeowners gather all the necessary paperwork and upload them to the servicers, creating a more streamlined system. Cabrillo is the only HUD-approved housing counselor organization in California that has access to the HOPE LoanPort system as part of its pilot program. This program is not available to all low-income families, however. Only those who have delinquent loans through one of the six banks that are participating in this unique program are eligible: JP Morgan Chase Manhattan, GMAC Financial Services, American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc., Saxon Mortgage, SunTrust and PNC Mortgage.
