Credit is such an important part of life in our modern society.  Yes, I know there are those who only use cash...or cash in the bank with a debit card and there is that gray economy...but seriously folks...if you want any of the nicer things this life has to offer you are going to have good credit.

So why not take a look at what the esteemed author Ralph Roberts has to say on the topic...

From Baseball to the newest American pastime: Raising your Credit Score 50 Points in 30 days or less.

The most common question that I have been asked in the past three years since the collapse of the financial lending industry is, “How can I get my Credit Score out of the toilet?”

When I get asked this question (and it gets asked hundreds of times) I feel what it’s like to be at bat in the major leagues with a “3 and 0 Count.”

Here comes the pitch, right there in my “wheelhouse.”
In the middle of the plate.
Traveling at a speed of somewhere in the mid “fifties.”
It’s now the size of a beach ball.
Just before it arrives, I clear my throat.
Shake the kink out of my neck and shoulder muscles.
I take time to point to the centerfield upper deck section of the bleachers.
I’m squeezing the bat handle now.
Recoiling at the waist.
I hear the “CRACK.”

Rounding the bases, I’m wondering to myself, “Who said the hardest thing to do in any sport is to hit a round ball with a round bat?”

This is like pitching underhand to Hank Aaron.

And then it occurs to me that I have to control my chest from swelling and gushing like Arnold Horshack in the front row of “Welcome Back, Kotter’s” classroom.

Control means being patient and waiting. The couple asking the question, “How can I get my Credit Score out of the toilet?”  needs to hear the empathy in my response.  I understand that people do not ask this question just to start a conversation.  They are in real trouble, and I have to respect that.  A low Credit Score is a serious burden even in the “good times.”

So, (finally) here’s my answer.  I give you two very easy and practical tips that will raise your Credit Score at least 50 points without costly, professional assistance.

Number One:

Write letters to the collection agencies requesting proof that the accounts are, indeed yours!   Don’t ask me why, but 90% of the time, collection agencies will not have proof that the bad accounts belonged to you.  Without the proper documentation, those accounts can be deleted from your credit file.

Number Two:

Open new accounts with high credit limits, BUT keep the balances low.

While there are several additional, effective steps you can take to increase your credit scores by as much as 200 points, these are at the top of my list.
And here’s the good news: Each step can get results in less than 30 days.

I do want to provide you with you one cautionary note:  Enhancing your credit score to borrow money, “Piggybacking” is illegal, against the law, fraud.  Don’t do it!

I would love to hear how this advice works for you.  If it helps, tell me about it and I’ll give you the next two tips on my list.

When I run applicant's credit report, I frequently see the SAME collection account for the SAME amount listed 2 or 3 times....these accounts get sold and RESOLD and the old account remain on their report.  Requesting that back-up documentation be provided is EASY and can certainly assist in getting them REMOVED and their score increased!!!
