We woke up Wednesday July 4th here in Wellington Florida to cloudy skies. It looks like RAIN!
And Rain it did! All day long!
Personal Fireworks were banned this year because of the drought we are having here so we didn't buy any fireworks this year.
Our 4 year old son was very disappointed that we were not going to light up his favorite little tanks.
"But we have the Village fireworks tonight." I told my son. Well, that is if it ever stops raining!
It kept on raining. We had to even turn our office computers off because of the thunderstorms and lightning.
So Tristan, our 4 year old goes over by our patio door and prays," Please Jesus make it stop raining so I can see the fireworks tonight." At 7:00 p.m. it stopped raining! The faith of a child!
So we headed on over to Pierson Park Wellington's recreation Center, staked out our spot and enjoyed the festivities and we did have great Fireworks!
The grass was all soaking wet. There were puddles everywhere. Some kids were having a blast jumping and playing in deep puddles all around the park while everyone is waiting for 9:15 to come about for the fireworks show. And others were standing in line to order hot dogs, hamburgers and roasted corn.
Inside the Recreation Center the village hosted lots of activities such as tattoos, face painting, Bingo and tug a war. You can tell everyone is just having a blast tonight. All in good spirits in spite of how wet it was and all the rain.
The Wellington Florida stage was the setting for patriotic music honoring our blessed country, this United States Of America. I am proud to be an American and feel honored to participate in celebrating our freedom.
The anticipated moment for our 4 year old arrives as Wellington Florida's 4th Of July Celebration.
The fireworks display was phenomenal, our son was soaking it all in, enjoying every firework and awed at the grand finale which happened to be spectacular.
