25 Comments on MOMENTUM into the New Year!
Toula,
The big "Mo" is important, but apparently not as important as the possibility of an injury to a key player. Giants fan here. I don't think we'll ever see a Giants/Jets superbowl...but we can imagine.
Rich
Toula, glad your Jets won. It's been a tough year for us Redskins Fans! On a side note, the Monday night game last night was fabulous--I stayed up way too late!
J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!
Big win over Indy.
The next game is the most important game of the year for us. Win and we're in!
But back to your post...
Momentum is huge. Success breeds success. When you're on a roll, it's important to keep at it.
Toula, great advice and post! I agree you cant loaf off too much, or you won't get around to your goals/success...
Toula, Sunday's game is all that's been talked about on sports radio. How it cheated the fans that filled the stadium with overpriced tickets to see the subs give the game away? The teams play pre-season games to get their timing etc. then just before they are goingto need to be at the top of their game, they are told to hold back? Should make it better for our Pats in the AFC Championship game against the Colts.
Hey, Toula. Great comparison, this is something that we all can relate to. Thanks and take care, Jim
Cograts to the Jets!!!!
Hi Toula,
That is an excellent post and how very true. Momentum is SO important. I can't help feeling that the decision to bench Manning and the other starters will eventually backfire.
As you say, in real estate too, we can't afford to back off and a productive December will make for a great start to 2010.
Having said all that, I still think the Colts will take some stopping in the Superbowl.......especially against my Cowboys!!!
Steve
Great post. I think you are so right, you have to keep the "momentum" going.
Toula I sure hope the Saints can get there momentum going before the playoffs.
Toula
Outstanding post, I agree momentum is a big part of winning.
Good luck and success.

Hi Toula - I'm also a aports fan - especially football. Like many others, I have mixed feelings about the coach's decision to play backups after the third quarter. The goal, after all, is to win the Super Bowl - not just the playoffs. So if in evaluating the health of his players, he felt that was their best chance, I suppose it makes sense. Itialso allows the backups to prove their mettle. On the other hand, I do prefer to see every team play at their best level every game, and it almost seems a bit insulting to the opposing team not to allow them to go up against your best. And getting a rest has not always done teams as much good as they hope.
Toula - Not a big sports fan here, but agree totally with you on the momentum issue. I couldn't wait to get back to the office after a long holiday weekend. My one and only goal every year is to work smarter than the year before.
Toula, That's wonderful advice and I know exactly when I lose my momenturm every year is when I've just come back from vacation. This year I prepared for that feeling and just jumped back into work but it's the time I'm most often to lose it.
There are some compelling reasons for what the coaches did, but definitely not a fan pleaser (for the Colts anyway).
Don't worry Toula, I'm also a Jets fan! You are in good company :)
Keeping the momentum going is good, but some downtime is also good. Prevents burn out.
At least your a loyal fan.
I don't really have a favorite team.
I love a good game and like to see the underdog surprise the favored.
Toula:
You are absolutely right about keeping the momentum going and it is a challenge at this time of the year.
Regardless of which teams end up in the Superbowl I will still be watching, since "The Who" will be doing the half-time show. I am really looking forward to that...
GOOD MORNING TOULA! WOW! We did have football on our blogs minds didn't we! Loved yours! Happy New Year to you! -- Gab
Toula - OK I am a BIG colts fan so that was a painful day for me. I see both sides of that one, but fear that losing momentum might really bite them in the playoffs. And you are so right about staying motivated ourselves. I have watched so many of my agent friends just take the month off. It is tempting, don't get me wrong. But you are right that we need to keep plugging along. Thanks for the reminder and GO COLTS :) ...geri
