This year will mark the 17th annual Polar Bear Swim for Charleston. Thousands of people rush into the icy water on New Year's Day, for reasons that I will never understand. The low temperature tonight is suppose to be around 30 degrees, with the high tomorrow only reaching 54 degrees. But since the weather has been unseasonable warm, I'm sure that the water temperature is around 55 degrees. So it should be warmer in the water that out of it! Crazy, huh? Regardless of the temperature, The Polar Bear Swim is still not an event for me. If you do go out to Sullivan's Island to make that mad dash into the ocean, I hope that you have a great time, and that you have a very thick towel to bundle up with when you get out! *photo courtesy of Sar Reev on Flickr ***************************************** We proudly serve and sell real estate in and around all of Charleston, SC.
