Do you have a Simple, Disciplined and Perpetual approach to your lofty 2010 real estate goals?
As a shareholder in privately held Quest Marketing Solutions in Cincinatti, OH I have learned a lot about marketing. Doug Banbury, CEO of Quest, often worked with real estate agents to help them build their business. He would always hammer home the words "Simple, Disciplined and Perpetual" as he guided agents towards a successful marketing campaign.
As I sit and reflect on the past quarter, and refine my 2010 real estate goals, I am comforted by those three little words. Marketing is not something that we can't get our arms around. It is not sending out a few postcards every month to a select group of contacts waiting for the phones to ring. It is not just sitting behind a computer using Facebook or Twittering. Marketing is much more than that. But to be successful it has to have these three components.
SIMPLE
Marketing must be simple enough to be able to communicate an idea in a quick and effective way. It must utilize a variety of tools. Some of those tools include Facebook, Twitter, ActiveRain, LinkedIn and so on. Keep it Simple.
DISCIPLINED
Marketing must be disciplined. It doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg to implement in a manner that is disciplined and well thought out. Keep it Disciplined.
PERPETUAL
Marketing must be ongoing. It must not stop when the going get's tough. It must have a component of perpetuity. Marketing must continually work in good times and perceived bad times. Keep it Perpetual.
