Where can you hop on a bus, donate blood and eat a fish taco all in the same place? Wahoo's in Valencia California!

Well the first thing you notice when you walk into Wahoo's is the beachlike atmosphere.  You really expect to find the beach as you walk out to the outdoor patio.  Wahoo's is located on the corner of Valencia Blvd and McBean Parkway in the Kohl's shopping Mall across the street from the Valencia Town Center. I found myself at Wahoo's today thanks to a mailer I received the other day about their joint promotion with the American Red Cross.  The Red Cross had their mobile bus at the Wahoo's Valencia, California location today, and I had not donated blood this year!!.  I was looking forward to donating blood and later rewarding myself with a couple of Wahoo's fish tacos, I have heard so much about.

It is such a great feeling knowing that someone's life could be saved as a result of my blood donation today.  Some Interesting stats.  Every 2 seconds someone in this nation will need a blood transfusion.  One blood donation can help save up to 3 lives!

Actor Kiefer Sutherland talks about some interesting "24" hour stats. Go online to the Red Cross Site and watch a few testimonials of some of those lives saved by past donations.

I would like to personally thank the staff at the mobile bus specifically Juanita Ramirez, pictured by herself (below)and (pictured left to right) Nadia Mills, Mayra Liera, and Maria Salica of the American Red Cross.  I joked with Nadia that "this is the only workplace you can ask for blood and people are happy to give it!"  You all made my visit (painless) you were all pros, and you all seemed to enjoy what you are doing, even putting up with all of my corny jokes and antics.  I also want to thank the staff at the Valencia Red Cross as well where I have also found the same level of all of the above when visiting them in the past.

I believe what you all do is so important and vital for our local communities.  This group of (Heroes) travel each day within a region that can take them as far as Burbank, Lancaster, and Ventura.  Thank you all for what you do.  Now it's time to eat!!

Bill and George (Managers) of the Valencia Wahoo's not only make you feel at home but they make sure that you enjoyed your food and time spent there. It was my first visit and George recommended the Wahoo's Bowl.  So while I waited for my Wahoo's Bowl I began to read about Wahoo's on a pamphlet I got from the Red Cross. ! learned that 3 brothers got together in 1988 in Costa Mesa and matched "their love for the ocean and their business creativity to creating a small taco restaurant" and Wahoo's was born.  (Suggest you read the whole story on line) "Wahoo's story" on the website.

Based on my Wahoo's bowl and my overall experience at this location I will likely be back sooner rather than later.  This time I'm going to feast on some fish tacos!!   Thanks to Bill and George of Wahoo's and the mobile staff of (Region 1) American Red Cross for putting this all together it was a great way to start my Friday Night!!   Pay Bill, George, and the American Red Cross a visit and let them know you read about them online.
