3 Comments on Blankets aren't just For Linus....Adopt a "Blankey" and Save $$
A blanket for me and one for my water heater to get us through this cold winter.
Got that right Katie...guessing there is no way heat wave in Massachusetts either.....have a warm and energy saving winter !
Uh-oh. I'm going to disagree with you on this one. Water heaters manufactured since about 1994 are double-walled and insulated, so adding a blanket to it is really just money thrown away because to recoup the investment will take a very loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.
However, if you do decide to cover your water heater instead of buying toys for your cats and dogs, make sure that the blanket doesn't cover up the manufacturer's operation and safety instructions. There are many water heater manufacturers and home insurance companies who will deny claims if that valuable information is covered up, and today's forensic technology can easily prove that a water heater blanket was in place when that disaster occurrred.
