Makawao/Pukalani Hawaii Real Estate Newsletter     -     November/December
2009
------------------------------------------------------------

I'm combining November and December into one newsletter wrap up for the end
of the year as they were both small caravans.  Interestingly, 3 of the
Pukalani homes for sale from November were priced right and are already
under contract.  Yes, real estate is selling here on Maui.

Maui Land & Pineapple Co. has pulled the plug on it's pineapple growing
operations.  The last harvest is in, and the Haliimaile baseyard will be
closing it's doors soon, cutting an additional 208 jobs by the end of the
year.  ML&P is counting on being able to sell some of its real estate in
order to meet its financial obligations and raise cash.  It's a real shame
that this long-standing company won't be able to continue in business, and
Maui Gold Pineapples won't be so easy to find anymore.

Georgina, I've been to Maui a couple of times. But I never really appreciated the variety of homes in the highlands. Most of us tourists like the beach, ocean kind of scenery. We did get to do a bike ride down the mountains. You have some great listings. Have a great 2010.
