50 Comments on Caught Red Handed While Staging These Homes!
Gorgeous pics Maureen! I love the color red too! Keep me posted if there are any fun staging events in the Portland area. I love learning new things. Much Success and Happy New Year to you!
Maureen, great pictures and excellent use of red. I noticed that too, when used in the right areas, we had better results. I think is has something to do with Feng Shui.
Hi Melinda ~ Will be glad to keep you posted on staging events around Portland -- there's one coming up 1-21-10 but it's mostly about SEO and social media. Let me know if you'd like more details. Hope your New Year is filled with happiness.
Hi Monica ~ I'd heard that about red too .... when staging a home, it stands for the "fire" element that every room needs.
Maureen, I do like most shades of red. I'll have to remember this when I redecorate a room.
Love it! Red is such a power color when used appropriately. I love the use of red in your staging. Congrats on a successful 2009 and best wishes for a great 2010!
Red is great to add a punch to any room. My sister told me a long time ago, "every room needs a touch of red!". I think she was right.
Wow Maureen, that red just pops! No wonder it's the color of fire and engery! Wishing you a happy and successful New Year!
Hi Rebecca ~ A little goes a long way ... try it, you'll like it in your own home!
Hi Michele ~ Red really makes a statement, true. Hope you have a wildly successful 2010!
Hi Kim ~ I agree with your sister too!
Hi Sylvia ~ Controlled fire and energy can be a good thing! Thanks for your feedback.
Maureen, the staging is beautiful. I love to use red. With Internet sales increasing, it is important that your photos pop with color. Congratulations on a job well done!
Hi Patty ~ You're so right about the online photos being important. Color can add some excitement to those photos and draw buyers in. Thanks for your nice comment!
I love to use red as an accent! It draws attention better than any color I know. Most of the houses that have sold very quickly have had red sprinkled throughout. Your pictures are fabulous Maureen - what a talented lady you are!
NICE JOB!
Hi Sheila ~ Fantastic to hear that you've had the same good luck with red accents too. Thanks for your nice comments!
Hi Colleen ~ Nice to see a fellow Oregonian here .. thank you for stopping by! Hope all is going well for you in the New Year.
I love it! Great job! Maureen, I always also enjoy your pictures - as a lover of photography,I like how you always capture pictures perfectly. What kind of lense are you using on your SLR?
Hi Birgit ~ I try to frame the picture so that it engages a buyer's interest ... sometimes that means an overhead angled shot like the first one above. But showing the home's architectural features is always the main goal ... buyers don't want to see photos of furnishings, even if they're lovely. Some of the photos above were taken with my wide angle Kodak V705 and some with my new 10-22mm ultra-wide angle Canon lens.
Hi Maureen, Yes I have to agree red is certainly an eye catcher and you proved it splendidly in your fabulous pictures. Great staging talent at work as usual Maureen! I also like to encourage the use of orange and bright greens in addition to the red factor.
Maureen ~ Red is a great "Pop" color. What a wonderful job you did on this home.
Hi Cyn ~ Like you, I love how the color orange photographs as well -- and bright green is another excellent color for staging. These bright colors really make the photos so much more interesting ...
Hi Monique ~ Thanks, your feedback is appreciated!
Many decades ago, one of my granddads had a red front door. I had never seen another red front door until a couple of days ago:
Hey Russel ~ Wow - I love the look of that red door! It brings great focus to the front entry area of that home. I've heard that a red door is good luck!
