Interior Design: Make The Right Choices And Improve Your Quality Of Life!

Colors are so important in design.Interior decorating has taken a back seat at times during this crazy, bargain-basement market in our area. But it is still something that is very important, especially if you are trying to sell a property that isn’t “distressed.”

Whether you are trying to fix up your home to sell it faster – or to get more money when you do sell it – or if you just want to create a warmer, better setting in which to live your life, hiring an interior designer can make all the difference in the world!

Most of us know good decorating when we see it. But very few people can actually start with a blank canvas and create those same cohesive color patterns and designs.

Start with your real estate agent to find help. Maybe they have a good eye (I do), maybe they know somebody who does.

The important thing to remember is, make sure you are comfortable with their personality, their listening skills, and their rate -- or you will likely be less than thrilled with the experience and outcome.

Aaron,

I've got a good eye as well. If the sellers don't want to hire a stager, I go thought the place with them and make a check list of "to do's".

Aaro,

Maybe you have a good eye and I'm glad to see that Terry does too.

But, my advantage comes from the fact that I don't and I know it.

Brian:

That's a good point; and probably serves you quite well. I have done hundreds of color schemes and worked with several really great interior designers when I used to build houses. It's something that comes natural to me (although I have leaned a lot from others, too).
