Venus Wins at Wimbledon

Venus wins her 4th championship at Wimbledon today!  That is pretty impressive from a player that Wimbleton had only been seeded 23rd.  They didn't give her much respect for a player that had played in 5 finals and win 3 before today. 

Venus beat 18th seeded Marion Bartoli from France.  Venus won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.  I have enjoyed watching Venus play in this tournament and I'm happy that she won. 

Venus won $700,000 pounds.  The first year of equal pay at Wimbledon.

Venus loves the grass, I still don't see how she was the 24th seed. Sure she has not played well of late, but she has won this three times before. 24th seed show some repect next time.

Her and her sister do work hard to excel in this sport. There are a lot of great tennis players and these two seem to have held there own for quite awhile.

You can never count Venus out at Wimbledon.  She always seems to come alive there no matter how little she has been playing and no matter what her ranking and seeding is.  Wimbledon brings out the best in her.  I am not a big fan of hers, but I do respect what she has been able to do there.  Sometimes we just have to sit back and enjoy what we are witnessing.
