We are blessed to live in a state surrounded on three sides by water! We have the Atlantic on the East, which is deeper than the Gulf of Mexico and also colder than the Gulf of Mexico. On the West we have that wonderful body of water that I love to swim and fish in called the Gulf of Mexxico. It is much shallower and warmer! That is my kind of water.
There are also thousands of miles of canals all along the Florida peninsula. People love to purchase canal front homes so they can have a boat and not have to pay the hefty price of being directly on the ocean. Being on a canal also protects them somewhat during hurricane weather.
Here in Pinellas County and even more so up in Pasco County, there are countless homes on the market right now that are canal front homes much like what you see in this photo:
