My owner is a Realtor with Century 21 Award in San Diego.I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and I figure the start of a new year is just the time to do it.

As many readers know, Russel Ray and I have been together for 15½ years and took advantage of the six months in 2008 in California when we could get married to do just that.

Up until 2006, it was just the two of us, but on Christmas Eve 2006, a little feral black cat came into our lives. We named her Sophie; actually I named her Sophie. When she was killed by a car on September 19, 2007, we went to the El Cajon Animal Shelter and adopted Zoey the Cool Cat.

Since 2010 is the Chinese "Year of the Tiger," in honor of Tiger Woods, cheetahs, and all other cats, if you have a cat, leave a picture of it in the comments here. Let's see how many cat pictures we can get by the end of 2010!

I'll leave my favorite picture of Zoey the Cool Cat right here:

Zoey IS a cool cat.  Love the one of Zoey under the newspaper.  As for the "year of the tiger"....I find it ironic, what with everything that has happened to Tiger Woods.  Seems life would have been much easier for Tiger if he had just gone to the animal shelter and adopted a nice kitty cat instead of playing at the "kitty kat klub".  lol

Jim - Not fair, I live vicariously through other peoples cat posts! I had one for over 20 years, now I have two dogs that don't like cats. :-( Wait, my daughter teases me and calls me a cougar because I am 10 months older than my husband. So, you have my picture to the left. Does that count?

Bella aka "Trouble"

Here is our newest "tiger", Bella.  My husband found her out in a field, alone, emaciated and starving.  She weighed 0.4 lbs yet still had a vivaciaous personality despite being so weak she could hardly walk.  This photo was taken just after she came to live with us.  After a bath and a good meal, she was feeling a bit playful!

This is skitty and Gabby, they are both 7 1/2 years old and have each been with us since the month Donald and I got married in June 2002.  And as you can see their favorite chair has a kitty pillow in it as well.  They also have a little sister... Ittle bitty.

Ittle Bitty is just 4.  She beats to a different drummer. :)

I love this post and am looking forward to all the photos.

On a second note ... I also find it amusing that you put Tiger woods in the same sentence with Cheetah (since he is one).

This is Shadow. I picked her from a Humane Society.

She is named partly for her coloration, and partly for her shy habits.

This is Stache (Ms. Stache). My oldest son brought her home. Some girl had picked her up from some people giving away kittens outside of Walmart. She decided the kitten was too much trouble, and she was just going to leave it somewhere. So my son brought the kitten home.

And since we had forgotten HOW EARLY a female cat can get pregnant, Stache had babies before we got around to having her spayed.

They are grown, now.

One of the calicos (the one in front) disappeared one day, but the other two are fine and happy (and spayed and neutered). The tiger cat is a male, named Maximus. The calico in back is a girl (almost all calicos ARE) and is named LC.

Alfie This is Alfalfa (Alfie for short)! He is 12 years old - he is my daughter's cat and she's had him since she was 10! He'll be 13 soon! He is very photogenic, especially in a green setting! But this is the only picture on my camera card! She had to leave him behind when she flew the coop! If I ever fall down the stairs - please prosecute Alfie - even though I know he'll plead temporary insanity! I'll know it was premeditated.... and so will you.....

Ragdoll catHi Jim ~ What fun! I love seeing all these monkeys.

I will have to get a good picture of Champ but in the meantime here is Lucy aka Princess.  She is a Ragdoll and she was meant to be mine. About 7 or 8 years ago my parents took me on a mystery ride for my birthday. Turns out we were going to Ragdoll breeders.  I picked out Lucy when she was just a little piece of fluff.

But I was too busy with real estate to give a kitten what she needed. So I asked my parents if they would socialize her. 24 hours later they were head over heels and she's been theirs since. They got her a brother, too, Charlie.  They're their substitute for grandchildren.

What a delightful group of furry friends! Have to add my two of course - they both love warm sunshine (is there a cat who doesn't??) and have their favorite places to soak up rays. Kira prefers the living room bay window where she can keep an eye on the neighborhood. Pipsqueak's favorite spot in warm months is the basement sliding door where she gets between the curtains and the screen and just bakes in the afternoon sun.

Hi Jim!  I'm SO surprised that Russel hasn't been posting a photo-a-day over here of Zoey the Cool Cat!!

This is my Charlotte!  She was a gift from my hubby--he HATED cats!  Just before Christmas one year, I was terribly ill and had returned to the doctor for a third time.  After the visit, the doctor (not his nurse or staff but, the doc himself, phoned us to tell us that my X-Ray showed a 'spot' on my lung and that I was going to have to have an MRI immediately.  So, before I went in for my MRI, we were discussing gifts for family and friends and Ray asked me what I wanted for Christmas.  I said, 'What I want is FREE--All I want is a kitty cat!'  Well, I think he thought I was going to die or something because he went right out and got me one!

Charlotte is my sweetie--she's definitely MY cat but, oddly enough, she prefers to ride around on Ray's lap (he's in a wheelchair) and has since the day she came to live with us!  My hubby will never ever again say that he hates cats because he just adores her!  (I think his mother told him he was allergic too!  He's not!)

Well, you didn't ask for a dissertation so, sorry!  Here's my baby girl!  Even Barney, our Lhaso LOVES her!

These are "our" cats. Actually they are my wife's cats but since they have been around for 11 years now they have grown on me.

This is Melchezidek - high priest of the house. We call him Mel or Melmel. Also chunky-butt and Orangey. He used to way 22 pounds but he's down to 17.

Melchezidek the high priest kitteh

This is Leviticus - sleak, sly and far too aware to be "just a cat". Myra calls him "oreo" and I call him "baby bite" because he always nibbles your toes when he is hungry. We call him Levi:

Leviticus the wise cat

And here's one of them being normal. Why Mel's tongue is out is a mystery but not surprising.

My latest addition, a stray I call "Yellowface."

Hi, Jim. Here's my latest addition. This is a stray who appeared out of nowhere...as they do...

He sleeps on top of the hay in the barn; I put a cat cube from Walmart up there so he can snuggle and feel secure. Guess he's settling in because he feels comfortable enough now to stretch out on the fender of the horse trailer and catch some sun.

I call him "Yellowface" which is the name of one my favorite horse trails here in Big South Fork.
