Broward County and South Florida Market Information
There has been about a 10% drop in prices from the peak of 2005. The sharp decline in asking prices for homes in a number of Florida counties coincides with a substantial increase in the number of homes that have been placed on the market in the past year. The number of homes offered for sale online in some Florida counties grew as much as 400 percent between May 2005 and May 2006. Median asking prices in these counties fell close to 25 percent during that period.
In Broward County, median asking price for a home fell 17.1 percent to $340,000, a difference of $69,900, according to the study. In 2005, 5,300 homes were listed on line. A year later: 28,239. To sell your property in Broward County you need to be priced correctly and marketed agressively.
