A Satisfying Nesting Vacation

By

I've got admit that I have enjoyed my vacation.  Since Christmas, I have been on  vacation "down-time".  Nope, I didn't travel anywhere or spend a bunch a money.  I've been NESTING.   I have enjoyed taking a break from my day to day work & stress - by just staying at home and doing stuff around the house and home office.

You know,  the stuff you can never find time to do throughout the year. Because we are in workaholic mode.

Doing My Stuff

Let's see.....

First I got into a "cleaning out the closets mode".  (My son hates it when I do this).  Yep, the clutter and the accumulation of STUFF.  Well, closet by closet through out the house got attacked and organized.   It really gives me a sense of completion. Perhaps this is a sickness?

Cookbook Library

My cookbook library got organized and at least now I can FIND my cookbooks.   I even found and older one that I blogged about earlier.  You should have seen this cabinet before I got it cleaned and organized.

Then the linen closet......

Then my personal closet.....now I have some donations to make.

Then packing away all the holiday trimmings....

Once I get started, I find more & more to do !!   ( I wonder what a shrink would say about me?)

The Sock Monster

Next was the SOCK DRAWERS.....    The sock monster lives at our home.  How in the world can I have this many socks that DON'T have a match????  None of these socks had a match!!

Why do I Keep All This Next was PURGE the FILES !!

My son, Michael, says that I am the Queen of Organization.   I don't think so.  If I was so organized, then how does all this STUFF get so un-organized throughout the year???

So, today is my last day of NESTING.  Then back to work tomorrow!  My energy level has been refilled.

It's been great!

Happy New Year!

I am a fan of nesting too . . . vacation at home. It is exhilarating to organize your home, get rid of clutter, and hard to stop once you start. Clean, organize, purge, repeat.

It's nice to see alll those "stray" socks! I thought we were the only house with a "sock eating monster"! I believe that by organizing your life you take back some quality in your life! Nice job and thanks for sharing!
