Everyone knows that a cat doesn't like to get its paws wet, so it will LEAP great distances to avoid water in order to get to their intended destination. Real estate is not an industry for testing the waters. You either make the commitment by Jumping In! or you don't.
Mary Yonker's post http://activerain.com/blogsview/1407685/real-estate-career-part-time-vs-full-time-inspired me to write this post. (Thank you Mary.) She discussed training, time commitments, schedules, family support and I must agree that in order to become a successful real estate agent, you must make a full time commitment.
I started out part-time but soon followed these steps:
- Set a date to go full-time
- Put several months salary aside
- Interviewed with several brokerages
- Took classes and attended seminars
- Practiced scripts with fellow agents
- Created a WOW! listing presentation
- Jumped in Full Time!
If you are a part-time agent, you are never able to fully commit yourself to your clients or to the industry due to other factors. It's your choice...You either make the committment by Jumping In! or you don't.
