Hopefully not I say. So far I'm thinking this winter could be awful. It's well below our normal temps and will be for the next week plus. I'm freezing.
From the death of winter comes the life of spring, they go hand in hand. To put it in a different way and stealing a line from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang "From the ashes of disaster grow the roses of success."
Love the picture and your background!
Shirley, I love the color of the Robin's eggs too! Our spring is far away, and the robins always let us know when it is here. Very nice photo, Shirley!
That photo is sure to warm your heart thinking about what's coming...but, not for some time here in Murphy, NC. We had 11 degrees today on the mountain and flurries.
I love the photo :) I just love birds.
I have a female cedar tree in my back yard and the birds are all over the pretty berries right now. The ground under the tree is covered in lavender berries.
I always loved robin's eggs, and robins, when I was in Texas. We don't have them out here, unfortunately.
You should join the ActiveRain Nature Station and post your nature pictures there, too.
Hi Russel, I went to join and it had an "invite member" button so I invited myself to join. :o)
Hi Melissa, Does your tree emit the cedar pollen that causes "cedar fever"? I hope you aren't allergic to it. I love birds, too!
Hi Kathy, Thanks and I'm glad I brightened your day!
Hi Lee and Carol, I saw on the news last night that most of the country is 20 degrees below their normal temperature. Brrr!
Thanks Mary, The snow in Colorado must be really beautiful right now.
Thanks, Sara!
Hi Tammy, We are having some brrr weather here, too, but not as cold as your weather...
Hey Shirley--- Glad to see YOUR profile picture.... now I can connect a face with the name... and the good blogs! Kathy
Shirley- The male cedar trees are the ones covered in red dust right now. The female trees drop the pretty berries and do not cause allergies. I did hear the Robins will eat the berries and become a bit tipsy if they eat too many. I'll be out there with my camera for that.
I have cedar fever right now, but after research; my tree is not to blame. Yay!
It is the male trees, giving us all a headache :)
Hi Melissa, Males are responsible for most of the headaches in the world! Just kidding! ;o)
Hi Kathy, Thanks!
An Easter egg? hehe... I think a robin's egg could be mistaken for an Easter egg, John. :o)
Shirley
Never knew they were that blue. But now I know where the term robin's egg blue came from!
I find robins and peacock eggs to be the prettiest eggs in the world. Don't need Easter die with them.
Hope that Birdy is sittin on the egg tonight, going down in to the 20's..... give us an update tomorrow Shirley :)
There you go Shirley, you gals livin in the south tryin to make us jealous up here in the land of 2'+ snow! That picture is a sight for sore eyes. I can't wait to hear the birds again when they come back up north and see the baby birds learning to fly.
