I was visiting with a former retired pastor of ours.  We laughed about the old times and the at times odd things that happened.   A few short jokes we tossed out and then The Pastor came up with this one.

The Townspeople were sitting in the Little country church as services were to start.  All of a sudden Satan appeared.  People went into a panic and started running in all directions to get away.

Soon, all had excited except for one elderly man.   he seemed oblivious to God's mortal enemy in his midst.  Satan walked up to the man and bellowed...

"Do you know who I am."    "Yup" replied the man.
"Aren't you afraid of me."   "Nope, sure ain't" replied the elderly man.
"Don't you realize I can kill you with a word!  Satan asked.
"Don't doubt it for a minute."

Getting more upset, Satan screamed..."did you know I can cause you profound agony, and physical hardship!"
"Yep" was the calm reply.

"AND YOUR STILL NOT AFRAID OF ME?!"

"Nope"

More than perturbed, Satan asked..."WHY AREN'T YOU AFRAID OF ME?!"

The man calmly replied..."Been married to your sister for over 48 years!"

Cute!! I've heard reasons for not being afraid of Satan, but never that one! Since I missed church today due to a lousy cold... coughing, sneezing, watery eyes... and thought the reference from the pastor would sort of make up for it. Not quite, but the humor makes me feel better anyway. Thanks.
