Motivational Monday — Act Discreetly

By
Real Estate Agent

“In the abundance of words there does not fail to be transgression, but the one keeping

his lips in check is acting discreetly.”  — A proverb

woman facing man in sillouette

The spoken word cannot be recalled therefore, think before

speaking.  It is better to be known as a quiet listener than a

big talker.

Dee,

You are so right.  Words are very powerful.  We all know that sinking feeling after saying something we shouldn't have and wishing we'd never said it!

Hi Dorie,

It's called the foot-in-one's-mouth disease. (not to be confused by hand, foot and mouth disease)  Foot-in-one's-mouth disease is a highly contagious disease, usually not fatal, but can be controlled by thinking before speaking.

Good wisdom to live by Dee.  Studying to be quiet is a lost art.

Diane,
I agree, learning how to listen, and how to be quiet should be taught at home.  This reminds me of what happened recently.  A child came up to his mom while in a conversation with me and tried to get her attention by being loud and insistent.  I thought, at his age (around 10) he should know better.
