Evaluating schools during your home search
Every home buyer knows that the quality of local schools impacts home prices and values. And if you have kids...forget about it (I used to live in New York) schools become part of your social network.
Schoolmates become your children's friends. They will have sleep overs together, go to games together, join teams together, date each other (YIKES!!!).
And you get to know the parents as well. In fact, most of Karyn and my social network is based on the parents of our childrens' friends.
School quality also affects resale value when it's time to sell. Homes will appreciate faster and sell more quickly when they are near better quality schools.
Whether you're looking at homes in Elk grove or homes in Natomas, you want to know about the quality of schools.
