Cheney kept his bank account fat and that's all he did. I think Dubya should pop him hard in the jaw for helping screw up his presidency. Dubya got dealt a tough hand in Sept 2001 and started out with the appropriate response. Somewhere along the way he was sidetracked into this HUGE mess and I'm pretty sure Cheney and Rumsfeld were involved. Iraq? C'mon.
It's amazing to me that we are FINALLY going after Al Qaeda and NOW people are complaining about the president. Where were the complaints when the president completely ignored Al Qaeda and invaded Iraq? Those same people complaining now sat buy and pretended invading Iraq was a fine idea.
bush and cheney are evil incarnate as far as I'm concerned.
I don't know where the statistic originates, but i have seen it in several sources now...
One third of all terrorist attacks since 9/11/2001 were in 2009.
So, from 2002-2008 there were twice as many attacks as 2009. Maybe wandering around the world apologizing isn't the best strategy.
Lane, You should know facts and stats don't work or matter here. Just start hating Bush and anyone and everything that has to do with him and you will be on track. I can't wait to see what is being said 7 or 8 years from now!!
And I'm sure you know that stats can be manipulated to serve one's purpose. For example, one could easily map out the movement of enemies towards Iraq during 03-08 and if one wanted to, one could count said attacks as terrorist activity.
Tchaka, spot on!
So, Tchaka, are you saying that there were fewer terrorist attacks under Bush? If that is the case, then Obama's "Weakness Doctrine" is even less successful...
