Hud 1 statement is a great tool for keeping in touch and new business!

The new year has arrived and you are probably in your office going over your new goals for the year and getting your prospects lined up to call or e-mail so now is a good time if you have not already to pull out those Hud 1 statements from last years closings and make copies for your clients and attach a letter thanking them for their business in 2009.

The best way to do this is to pre-type the letter for the new year and when you have a closing make an extra copy and put the two in an envelope and address it when you have your closing. That way at the end of the year you can put stamps on them and mail them out. If not you could do that now. I write a personal letter to each client and include the Hud 1 statement and also throw in a couple of cards for them to hand out or to keep for themselves. This way you are helping your past client with a very important document they will need when filing their taxes. Your letter can also include asking them for a referral as well.

What better way to help your client out at tax time because you know they will probably have to dig that information out anyway and this shows them that you have not forgotten about them and you appreciate them and doing business with them. Past clients are the best when it comes to getting new business because if they were happy with you they will definitely tell someone else about you. One more important tip is to put the words "important tax information" on the envelope that way they will not throw it away thinking that it is junk mail. Although we hate to think they would do that we have all been guilty of it.

Thanks,

Have a great 2010!
