The Brangus breed was developed to utilize the superior traits of Angus and Brahman cattle. Their genetics are stabilized at 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Angus.
The combination results in a breed which unites the traits of two highly successful parent breeds. The Brahman, through rigorous natural selection, developed disease resistance, overall hardiness and outstanding maternal instincts. Angus are known for their superior carcass qualities. They are also extremely functional females which excel in both fertility and milking ability.
From a ranch kids (40 now, but still a kid at heart) perspective these cattle get around better in the rough Arizona desert than the Angus and have better gains as well as temperament than the Brahman. Dad had a bull named Alex that was a pet. The Brangus has longer ears and is not bothered as much by the insects of the desert.

One day Alex and another bull (Pork) were fighting. Dad was 10 feet from them with his hands on his hips like he was the referee, and the dust was so thick I could hardly see him. Wish I had captured that on film. I like shareing the western lifestyle as I know it, I only have images on a fraction of the stuff.
When range land is managed correctly these cattle are fat and healthy where an Angus would starve to death.

Wagyu Cows
Hey Robert, are you a Wagyu Rancher? I think how beef is finished has more to do with taste than what breed they are. Just a thought.
I want to support ranchers across America, I do not care the size shape or color of their cows.
Eat Beef its whats for dinner. Cheers.
