Fort Worth, Texas Stockyards

Over the holidays, my husband's family came to stay with us.  Since they live in Boston, they wanted some "authentic" Texas things to do.  While the girls went to Sam Moon for all their costume jewelry needs, the guys went and shot handguns. It doesn't get more Texas then that!

The next day, we thought we'd take our guests form the north to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. They were blown away to say the least.  It's really amazing how they've kept the old timey feel alive for so many years.  Everything there is authentic; from the cow skin drink coasters to the one of a kind Texas art.  My brother-in-law was especially thrilled that they sold "Dublin Dr. Pepper".  Evidently, its made from pure Cain sugar, and can only be purchased in a few locations in Texas.   

The Fort Worth Stock Yards were especially pretty when we went due to the time of year.  Everything was decorated for the holidays with the perfect Texas Flair.  I've included a picture of my sister-in-law having fun sight seeing.  If you have guests in town and want a true taste of classic Fort Worth, you have to put the Stock Yards on the "to do" list.
