Advertised mortgage rates are usually out of date because mortgage rates change daily. Sometimes a few times a day. It's impossible to ask for rate quotes from a few lenders and compare unless you ask all of the lenders for a rate quote at the same exact time. If your quotes are within an hour the rates could have changed so trying to accurately compare is impossible.
