My owner is a Realtor with Century 21 Award in San Diego.Brad Andersohn recently announced the ActiveRain Gold Medal winners for having the most points in their field.

I'm a big fan of persistency and consistency, but I'm also a fan of spreading the wealth around, rooting for the underdog, and watching the Olympics.

Since the 2010 Winter Olympics are just a few weeks away, I thought it would be fun to look at the ActiveRain Silver and Bronze Medal winners for having the most points in their field. First, check out the ActiveRain Gold Medal winners, and then come back to read about, and visit, the ActiveRain Silver and Bronze Medal winners.

While the ActiveRain Gold Medal winners were awarded 5,000 points (making it that much more difficult for others to catch up with them) I am, unfortunately, unable to provide any points to the ActiveRain Silver and Bronze Medal winners. How nice it would have been if they had been awarded, say, 2,500 points for silver and 1,000 points for bronze. Nevertheless, here they are. I believe they deserve just as much credit as the Gold Medal winners.

Hi Jim!  WOW!  What an excellent list to add to Brad's list!  I subscribe to a good number of these folks too but, see a couple that I need to add to my list.

Congrats to your well-deserving winners!

Thanks for this--I know it took alot of work to pull this together!

Jim,

An interesting list. I came from Lisa Hill's reblog. Interestingly, the reblog is showing the photos and text differently. It is much better organized in the original post, but it is simply changes because of the way reblogs handle it. I say that because Brad's post is the same way. I first saw the reblog and when I got to the original post, I was also surprised by it being nicer organized.

Good job

Hey, Celia - If I had know that you get 5,000 points just for being #1 at the end of the year, I would have worked seven days a week instead of just six. LOL

Hey, Debe - It took a lot longer to put together than I thought it would. I almost gave up about two hours through, but I had a little cat rooting me on!

Hey, Wanda - Russel was taking a catnap while I was working on this. He was impressed when he saw the final product.

Hey, Lisa - Thanks for stopping by. I found some new people that I will have to visit regularly.

Hey, Jon - I've never been happy with the way reblogs format themselves.

Hey, Dana - I think it would be interesting to see who actually got the most points in 2009, too, but I couldn't figure out how to do that.

Hey, Carra - It did take me a long time.

Hey, Irene - I like underdogs except when my favorite teams are playing. LOL

Hey, Sara - Maybe someone from ActiveRain will see the light.

Hey, Lou - I was not surprised when I saw your name since I find your blog to consistently be one of the most positive.

Jim -

Thanks for the share - like you, however, unsure as to its value, and what it means!

In some categories, like Attorneys, and Inspectors, far fewer points are required to "make the top".  Some of the bloggers here have had the good fortune of being around for several years, while those non Realtors have often had less tenure, or have blogged only sporadically over a longer time.

A few thousand points are of less value to those at the top - kind of like fining a professional athlete, who makes millions each year, $10,000 - not much of a thing to them.

Of course, I recognize most of those awarded.  Some, however, got many points as "fill"  - easy clip and paste posts with little real value.  That concerns me, of course, and gets these folks little web enhancement value.

Nonetheless, however, it is valuable to reward those dillegnt who work hard here on AR!

Kudos for recognizing these people.  I agree that once someone gets massive points it is nearly impossible to catch up so it may become a demotivator for some AR Newbies.  Points are kind of luck money, the rich get richer a lot easier than the poor folk do.

If someone signs up tomorrow and they logged in every day (100 points) and posted a blog daily (250 points) and posted 10 comments @ 25 points (250 points) they would get 600 points a day that they controlled.  Of course they will get some comments and hopefully a few features for bonuses.  If they did that every day for a year, they would get 219000 points so it would take them four years to catch the lead people if the current leaders quite (no actually it would take longer since the current leaders are still raking in points from posts 2 years ago).

I personally don't care about the points though; I want people to read what I have to say, check out my profile and send me business.  AR helping me get ranked on Google and other search engines is motiving me more than points!

Glad to see all of these others - they are the ones I generally see here on AR and there is a reason for that!  Lots of hard work on their part...

Hopefully they'll benefit from the few points they'll get from our comments. That and knowing you took the time to showcase their efforts to all of us, thankyou.

Jim....I'm late to the party.  Thanks a ton!!!!  I see why so many people are better than me, but mostly, I'm so happy to have all these great people as resources.  Some of them have really become important parts of my life.   Thanks Jim.

Wow Jim, that was a lot of work to put together!  I see a lot of my favorite people here.  Thanks for compiling the list for us.  I couldn't be in better company in the Virtual Assistant category than Sharon and Heather!  They are great at what they do.

Hello Jim and I remember seeing this post before it was featured by "The Gods" and there are some greats on this list and I would like to keep this post alive. With a feature at one of my favorite groups, I hope you don't mind!
