I recently spoke with Sheree Curry from Housing Watch regarding the rising trend in foreclosure mediation. While some states have tended to make the mediation mandatory, I commented that foreclosure mediation usually involves a junior representative with little authority. The results normally are not as helpful as they could be, rather, the mediation just places a checkmark on a list of foreclosure steps.
What are your thoughts on foreclosure mediation? Is it a cog in the process or is it a step to a worthwhile solution?
