Some of the best views, if not the best views, of downtown San Diego and the San Diego Bay are from Coronado Island.
Coronado Island is also home to the Coronado Island Naval Station; the world-famous Hotel del Coronado, said to be the most expensive piece of real estate in the United States, having sold for $384 million back in 2001 or so; and Coronado Beach, which regularly ranks as one of the Top 5 beaches in the United States.
Since I was over on the Island holding an open house today, I also took some time to get some pictures of the Coronado Bridge and of downtown San Diego from the Coronado Bridge and from Coronado:

Hey, Margaret - I've tried to put MLS listing links in my blog here but I haven't been able to do it. I'm not sure why it doesn't work unless it has something to do with us needing to log in with a user ID and a password. However, what I consider the most spectacular home currently on the market in Coronado is this one: http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/401-1St_Coronado_CA_92118_1109240024. It's just $12.9 million with $11.9 million being the views.
Hey, Dana - We have a bad day here and there, but overall one can't argue with an average year-round daytime temperature of 73°F and an average year-round nighttime temperature of 56°F. Of course, we do have the occasional wildfire, freak storm, mudslide, and earthquake, so it's not all roses.
Great slide show... I forget what real BIG buildings look like and that is one engineer feat of a bridge! I see pine trees and more pine trees! Now it is SNOW and more SNOW!
